Cons
- The location of BJIT is the only terrible thing I can think of. Honestly, it's a big issue as well. It's in a very remote and underdeveloped region of Dhaka. The commute itself was very draining.
2. lack of team leadership role in the managers.
3. Low salary compared to market.
4. No real merit-based career growth.
5. Heavy favoritism culture.
6. Most QA team leads avoid work and burden juniors to get their workdone.
7. Poor management practices.
8. Observes you movement via CCTV by CEO.
9. No Job Security.
10. Yearly Awards are given to favored personal but not to the deserving person.
11. Very Few Qualified Software Architect, General Mangers.
12. HR is Unprofessional.
13. Nothing major, just the usual minor challenges that come with growth.
14. Micro-management Biasness Works for Award and Promotions Lazy Culture No Lunch, No Breakfast, No Snacks. Office at Remote Area A experienced woman with only 3 years JOB experience was promoted to CSO (Senior GM) from Internship , how I don't have any idea but for most it takes 18-20 years of Experience. Many talented Engineers couldn't get promoted from Senior software engineer to Software Architect within 3 years. My question is what was that extra-ordinary support that lead to this Achievement?
15. No benefits, HR is pure illiterate, Management decisions are not employee friendly. They even cancels govt declared EID holiday. Food is paid and per meal is 100 tk which is way over average, no PF, Gratuity. Hassle to take paid leaves. Over-managing everything. Daily report submission needed in more than 4 places. Micro management is everywhere. Nepotism is at its best here. If you can butter management and stay silent, this is the place.
16. 1. No free breakfast or lunch provided 2. No refreshment facilities or recreational areas 3. Strict rules and policies can feel a bit rigid.
17. Low salary - 2 month notice period - Head office location is in backward area - Strictly physical - Paid lunch.
18. ❌ Toxic Politics & Poor Management – Favoritism heavily influences promotions, with management lacking strategic vision. In one case, a female employee with no prior experience was promoted to head of a department in less than two years due to a personal relationship with the CEO, raising serious ethical concerns. ❌ Unpaid Overtime Culture – Forced to work overtime daily without pay (For some specific teams). Weekend work is paid only for 9 hours, despite some teams working 12-13+ hours. ❌ Unrealistic Deadlines & Blame Shifting – Poor project estimations result in impossible deadlines. Engineers are blamed for delays caused by management’s bidding tactics. ❌ Employee Benefits Cut – Free meals, Provident Fund, and service benefits have been removed without proper alternatives. ❌ Low Salary Growth – Increments are below industry standards, and the salary structure has barely changed in a decade. ❌ Fear-Based Work Culture – Raising concerns leads to retaliation rather than improvement.
19. Several key employee benefits (such as free food, Provident Fund, and service benefits) have been gradually discontinued over time. - The Provident Fund has been replaced by the Universal Pension Scheme, introduced without sufficient employee consultation or clarity. - Food quality concerns raised by employees were met with the discontinuation of free meals, rather than improvement efforts. - Year-end salary increments are not satisfactory, making it difficult to keep pace with industry standards and inflation. - The current salary structure appears to be outdated, with little revision in the last decade, which may affect employee motivation and retention. - Some management decisions seem to lack strategic depth, potentially contributing to employee dissatisfaction and missed growth opportunities. - Constructive feedback from employees has not been encouraged (they encouraged it, but the reality is different), and at times, raising concerns has led to negative consequences — creating a culture where open communication feels discouraged.
20. 1. Behaviour with employee is bad 2. Employee performance is measured on basis of count of taken leave. also leaves are given from company but can not be used easily. Even need to explain personal detailed reason during taking leaves 3. How much time employee is not desk that is also traced. beside that also the screen is also observed by the manager for checking what employee is doing 4. If anyone can not do breakfast before the office time, during office time he or she is not allowed to do that. If she or he does this, this is not considered as good conduct 5. salary structure very low 6. No food facility 7. Senior management is very bad.
21. Most negative reviews come from former employees who were either fired or forced to resign, so most of the reviews are biased. - The company does let go of employees if needed, usually giving a two-month notice period before termination. - Common reasons for termination are; poor attendance, inappropriate behavior, or if the company is facing a project crisis. And project crisis happens a lot. - Some long-time employees become too comfortable, assuming they won’t be fired, so they avoid taking on new responsibilities or challenges. - Not all projects have the same workload, so while some teams have a smooth workflow, others might experience higher pressure depending on the project. - Job security depends on performance and company needs, which can sometimes create stress among employees.
22. Office location, Strict time policy
23. 1. you will be treated like a labour by the management, 2. Zero Job security. 3. Poor Yearly Increment. 4. Compensation is below market average. 5. No provident fund (PF) benefits, and no subsidized lunch—employees must pay for unhealthy food options. 6. The Head of the HR (CSO) frequently makes poor decisions that negatively impact employees.
24. 1. No job security 2. No flexibility 3. No WFH facility.
25. ❌ Lack of Job Security – Frequent, hidden layoffs without clear communication. ❌ Poor Treatment of Senior Employees – Experienced professionals are undervalued or let go unfairly. ❌ Toxic Work Environment – Internal politics, favoritism, or micromanagement. ❌ Unclear Growth Path – No proper career progression, appraisals, or leadership support. ❌ Unstable Policies – Sudden changes in company policies, creating uncertainty. ❌ Poor Work-Life Balance – Very hard time rule, Flexible hourss. ❌ Compensation & Benefits – Comperatively low salary as per the other companies. ❌ Poor Food Quality & Food Management
26. Bad management system Frequent layoff
27. Nepotism, No PF, Not have fully subsidized lunch
28. Unfair HR Policy Do not care about employee value (Even if they are key performers) Frequent internal layoffs Bad Management policies(Depends on project and Team)
29. No career development * No Provident Fund * Always have to be on time
30. The HR team operates unprofessionally. If the company wants an employee to leave, they bypass proper procedures, presenting only two choices: resignation or termination, regardless of performance. 2. The CEO, HR, and management exhibit arrogance. Any action perceived as opposing their views can lead to termination, irrespective of one’s track record. ring 3. To ensure job security, employees are forced to ingratiate themselves with the COO, CEO, and other management members. 4. They force to resign long term employees without any proper allegations 5. The Head of HR, the Head of Business Development, and the Chief Strategic Officer are only one person, whose only strategy is to terminate long-term employees to increase profit. The sales team failed to bring projects, but they terminate engineers for that. 6. Right now, there are no employee benefits at all. No subsidized meal, no provident fund.
Advice to Management
- Please move to a newer location. It's weird that we worked with global technological leaders but had to walk through muds and dust to attend office.
2. The company focuses more on giving benefits to a few selected individuals rather than building an employee-friendly culture. Career progression is heavily dependent on pleasing management rather than on actual performance. In the QA department especially, most team leads prefer not to work themselves and instead push the majority of their responsibilities onto junior team members. There is little recognition for hard work, and the environment is demotivating for those who genuinely want to grow through their skills and efforts.
3. Please change all GM , PM, SPM and SGM and get some better one.
4. Fire all BU Head and GM waste of money. Hire GM (Technically sound with good in management ). Make a Product based Software Company parallel with Service based. Stop doing micro-management. Stop hire and fire policy. Fire CSO and hire someone qualified.
5. Learn from others, think a little about the employee welfare at least.
6. Please focus on employee work life balance - Make the lunch good and free - Make hybrid office culture.
7. 🔹 End toxic politics and base promotions on merit. 🔹 Provide fair overtime compensation. 🔹 Improve project planning instead of blaming engineers. 🔹 Restore key employee benefits. 🔹 Offer competitive salaries and transparent growth opportunities. 🔹 Encourage honest employee feedback without consequences.
8. As a well-wisher of BJIT, I sincerely hope the company continues to grow and retain its talented professionals. With that in mind, I would like to humbly suggest: - Focus on long-term growth and sustainable strategies rather than short-term cost-saving measures. - Revisit and modernize the salary structure to align with current industry standards, which will help attract and retain top talent. - Establish clear and transparent salary standards across ranks and teams, ensuring that while variations are natural, excessive salary disparity does not demotivate employees. - Provide free and high-quality meals in the office, it's no longer a luxury - it's a basic need that reflects care for employees. - Foster a culture of open communication where employees feel comfortable sharing constructive feedback without fear of negative consequences. - Consider reinstating key employee benefits such as Provident Fund and service benefits, which play a vital role in employee satisfaction and loyalty. - Strengthen leadership by ensuring decision-making positions are held by experienced and capable professionals who can guide both business growth and employee well-being.
9. Project doing decisions should be made by an independent authority, not by the people who will be working on them.
10. NO advice for them. They won't care unless they completely reform their top management.
11. Give us some flexibility
